Your Facebook Life Doesn’t Fool Me
Sometimes we drink, sometimes we judge and sometimes we judge our drinking. This is one of those times.
Sweetpotato and I have found ourselves at a crossroads. We have had just enough good wine to know better and we were on the verge of becoming too discerning for our own piggy bank. The truth is, we just can’t be drinking $20 bottles of wine on a weeknight, every weeknight. So our choices were to reduce our volume or reduce our price tag.
I mentioned our kids are 3 and 6 right? So you understand when I say reducing the volume was simply not an option?
Fortunately, our very dear friends introduced us to the Bota Box, and pulled us back from the brink of financial ruin.
I know you’re thinking Queenie has gone back to her trailer park roots, but understand this is not the box wine of my childhood, this is in the Premium Box Wine section of the grocery store. The distinction is important.
Not only is it delicious, but it has a convenient pour spout for when the kids are in charge of refills, and it keeps fresh for 3 weeks after opening. (This is according to the label on the box, I doubt I will ever have the personal experience of a box being open that long.)
The other night we had folks over for a party for Sweetpotato’s work and served wine in actual bottles and I mean to tell you, it just didn’t do it for me. So from now on, I will be serving my guests from the finest in earth-conscious cardboard. And if I’m having a fancy party I will serve Bota Box in my Waterford Crystal goblets.
$5 wine in a $65 glass- Buzzy and Bougie, this is how we roll.
